the season of rich cake!!
wow......
12 months have already wizzzzzzed pass...
another christmas apporaching...another chance to get cuaght up in the rush of tarffic and gift hunting, drinking milk wine and putting on weight....
it's all about traditions...some which we could do without!
I love this season....for me it starts as soon as the nights get longer and the air get's chilly....
there is a feeling of warmth and a new scent to the air in the morning
everything looks new...fresh....
it's a chance for people to spend a little more on themselve and their loved ones, and a good reason to enjoy RICH, juicy christmas cake!
though the preparation can be tedious, "rich" cake as many refer to it, brings family and friends together...for me it's a chance to spend some time with my sis...reminising...how aunty so and so made her christmas cake...remembering how small the pieces of cake were..or arguing with our dad as to how much of brandy should be added....=)
gift shopping is another interesting but time consuming seasonal responsibility....I'm usually in charge of the list, and still find it amusing how my dad still adds my name onto the list!
unfortunatly these gifts have to be wrapped as well.....and this usually get's done on the eve of the "big Day!"
if I had a christmas wish, it would be for christmas to be one of those, never ending days....it ends so fast sometimes, you dont even get a chance to enjoy the day!
but I guess the day is all about the smiles of the kids, the enjoyment of the company, the polishing off of the cake and the table of goodies...and of course sitting down in the quite of your room and soughting out the gifts that are going into the dark corner of your cupboard...for the next year...sigh...
whatever you may plan out for this season...I wish this holiday holds a gift of memories...for you and your family...
enjoy the cake!!!!! you'l have to wait another 12 months ....
